A fierce encounter has started between suspected militants and forces in Hushenpora, Nagebal a remote village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Police sources said that the encounter started in the afternoon and the forces have cordoned off the area where heavy firing is going on.
Police sources said that a joint party of 62 RR and police is busy in the operation against the holed up militants.
The locals, who fled the village just after the gun battle started, informed KL that one suspected militant was killed at the start of the encounter. However, police did not confirm any casualty.
