Responding to question of vocal and independent lawmaker from Langate, Engineer Abdul Rasheed, government stated that 47928 passport cases are pending for disposal in the passport issuing office.
Explaining the delay, department has given various reasons like non receipt of reports from field agencies, incomplete information and data provided by the applicants, necessitating their re verification and some applicants being out of the state.
