Police have arrested five gamblers and recovered stake money over Rs one lac from the gambling site at Pahalgam in District Islamabad, police said on Saturday.
Acting on specific information, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Pahalgam Tariq Ahmad Khan raided a gambling place at Pahalgam today afternoon, police said.
During the raid five gamblers were apprehended who were identified as Mohammad Iqbal Sofal, Shabir Ahmad Ganie, Farooq Ahmad Gatòo, Irshad Ahmad Bhat and Shakeeel Ahmad Dar.
Police team recovered a stake money of Rs. 122510 from the gambling site, the statement said.
A case FIR number 08/2017 under section 13 Gambling act has been registered against these gamblers and further investigation has been taken up.
