SRINAGAR: The body of a man was found near an orchard in the Upper Magam area of Handwara on Wednesday, officials said.
As per details, the body was spotted by locals, who immediately informed the authorities. Police rushed to the spot and took custody of the body for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Ab Rasheed Lone, son of Mohd Akbar and a resident of Magam, Handwara.
The cause of death remains unknown at this stage; however, police have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. (KB)
