A teacher was arrested by police for allegedly raping one of his 9th class students in Barzulla area of Srinagar city on Saturday.
Quoting police sources, news gathering agency CNS said that a teacher (name withheld) working in one of the private schools at Solina Srinagar was running a coaching centre at his residence located in Bulbul Bagh Barzulla.
Police sources said that a 9th class student (name withheld) from Rahim Bagh Colony Mehjoor Nagar visited the teachers residence with a purpose to handover tuition fee. The teacher lured the student and raped her as neither any student nor any family member of the teacher was present at the home.
The victim’s family approached police station Saddar after the girl informed them. Police arrested the accused and registered a case vide FIR number 242/2013 under section 364 and 376 of RPC.
A police official on condition of anonymity told CNS that medical examination has proved that licentious 40 years old teacher has raped the 15 years old student.
