SRINAGAR

Fresh snowfall has started in Srinagar, the winter capital of the state as was predicted by the local metrology department.

Srinagar was witnessing moderate snowfall when this report was filed.

Pertinently, metrology department has predicted heavy to moderate snowfall in the valley on Januray, 8 and 9.

“Authorities have taken every possible step to maintain public services in view of the MeT prediction,” an official in the divisional commissioner Kashmir office told Kashmir Life.

Earlier on Wednesday, snowfall was reported from the upper reaches of district Kupwara, Baramulla, Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian, Bandipora and Ganderbal.

The reports of heavy snowfall have also reached from Shopian town as well.
