SRINAGAR: In 2023, a total of 53 infiltrators have been neutralised by Joint Forces in Jammu and Kashmir, with these encounters occurring in at least 28 separate gunfights.
The joint forces thwarted 11 infiltration attempts in various sectors of Kupwara district, 7 in Rajouri, 5 in Poonch, 3 in the Uri Sector of Baramulla, and 1 in the Reasi district of Jammu.
The breakdown of the data indicates that Poonch saw the killing of 9 infiltrators, while Kupwara witnessed the elimination of 26, Rajouri accounted for 10, Baramulla for 7, and Reasi for 1. [KNT]
