Police said that an encounter has started between militants and the forces in a village of district Pulwama on Friday evening.
Sources told Kashmir Life that SOG personnel were fired upon by suspected militants in Kangun, village of Pulwama district in Muran area. Soon a reinforcement of Army and CRPF was rushed to the spot that cordoned off the area.
They added that fierce encounter was going on when the reports last came in.
Police spokesman confirmed the encounter and said, “The militants have been cornered and the operation is on.”
He added that no reports of any casualty have reached so far.
