Police arresting Malik and others at Awantipora

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Mohammad Yasin Malik was Monday arrested along with 14 others at Awantipora when he was on his way to Islamabad. Malik was scheduled to lead a protest rally against the clean chit given to army personnel and officers involved in Pathribal fake encounter case. The arrested have been lodged at Awantipora police station.

JKLF spokesperson while condemning the arrest of Malik and others said: “Yasin Malik was to lead a peaceful rally against the clean chit that has been given to the killer officers and soldiers who massacred innocent Kashmiris at Pathribal in 2000.”

Spokesperson further said: “Army have been killing innocent Kashmir’s with impunity and AFPSA like laws are protecting them from being brought to justice.”

Spokesmen said that Kashmir’s stand against this injustice and will continue protest against this “state sponsored terrorism”.
