Jammu and Kashmir Governor, NN Vohra, appointed Rafiq Fida as acting Chairman of J&K State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) with immediate effect recognizing his services and contribution in the Commission.
Sources said that orders in this regard were issued vide SRO number 30 dated 10/2/2014.
Rafiq Fida, who is serving as member of the Commission since June 2011 and has passed some land mark judgments regarding some important, serious and sensitive matters.
The Commission was functioning without Chairman from 2011 when Justice Bashir-ud-Din completed his term of three years as the chairman of the Commission. (CNS)
