SRINAGAR: A 55-year-old man died in a road accident in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday afternoon.
An official said that a vehicle (Eco) bearing registration number JK09B-6614, while en route from Handwara to Kupwara, hit a pedestrian named Ali Mohammad Bhat, son of Khazir Mohammad, a resident of Vilgam near Shartmuqam crossing Drugmulla, Kupwara.
Bhat sustained critical injuries in the incident and was immediately shifted to SDH Kupwara for treatment, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries, the official said.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway. (KS)
