Minister of state for Science and Technology and Information Technology, Feroz Ahmed Khan, has expressed gratitude to Defence Ministry and Indian Air Force for arranging IL 76 for 290 stranded passengers of Kargil from Srinagar and 291 passengers from Jammu.

Khan conveyed gratefulness to the Ministry for airlifting stranded passengers of Kargil including patients, old aged, students and the candidates, who have to appear in important interviews.

It was informed that, with the efforts of Defence Ministry and Indian Air Force till date, more than 700 passengers from Srinagar and nearly 1000 passengers from Jammu have been airlifted to Leh and Kargil.

Khan further requested for operating the AN 32 flights as per schedule.

Meanwhile, Khan has also thanked the chief minister, Omar Abdullah and the state cabinet for sanctioning creation of two separate electric transmission divisions for Leh and Kargil.

 While as other 838 stranded passengers have been airlifted from Bandipora since January 2013 so far. In all, 438 passengers were airlifted from Bandipora to Dawar, Neeru, Budu-aab and Kanzalwan while as about 400 stranded passengers have been airlifted from Gurez area to Bandipora during the said period.
