Army airlifts ailing lady to Sgr, provides shelter to children

According to a defence spokesperson, “Atiqa Begum 35 yrs w/o Ali Mohd Bhatt, a casual labour, resident of Abdul Hun was suffering from Anaemia and weakness. The Army authorities in Gurez arranged for her evacuation and the lady was evacuated from Gujran in Air Force Helicopter along with her husband to Srinagar.”

Meanwhile, it said, “the Government Boys Middle School building at Kohilyan had developed cracks in the  building which made it hazardous for the school children attending the classes, the Army voluntarily responded promptly and provided tents for the school on 28 April 2014.”

“This helping hand by the Army will go a long way in mitigating the hardships of school going children of Kohilyan who, otherwise would not have any shelter from the rain and sun, as also any foreseen risk,” the statement added.
