63 packets of explosive recovered in Srinagar: Police

Srinagar police and 2 RR recovered about 6 kgs of explosive material concealed in 63 packets from a vehicle. Police claimed on Tuesday.

It said that during a Naka checking near SRTC Yard, Bemina, Srinagar, police and 2 RR intercepted a Tavera bearing registration number JK01R/4818 that was moving on Bypass, Srinagar.

During the search of the vehicle about 6 Kgs of explosive material concealed in 63 packets were recovered from the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle Hilal Ahmad Sanoo son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Chanapora, Srinagar was taken into custody. A case FIR no: 352/2013 under section 3/5 ES Act was registered in police station Parimpora and investigation has been started, police added.
