SRINAGAR

Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani after meeting Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit after India cancelled Secretary Level Talks landed at Srinagar Airport Wednesday afternoon.

He was immediately house arrested, again.

“Two polices vehicles followed Geelani and as he went inside his residence the main gate was closed by police personnel who had already reached the spot,” a Hurriyat (G) spokesperson told Kashmir Life.

Eyewitnesses said that as Hurriyat patriarch came out of Airport, a police party was already waiting for him.

“As the vehicle of Geelani moved on its way to Hyderpora, two vehicles of Police were following it,” an eye witness said.

Geelani has been put under house detention when he is in the summer capital especially since 2010.

He is, however, allowed to move out as and when he visits New Delhi for spending chilli days of winter or for a medical check up.

He was last put under house arrest on April 16 this year after his return from Delhi. Ever since he is being denied to offer even Friday prayers.
