SRINAGAR: An elderly woman was found hanging under mysterious circumstances at her residence in the Droundi area of Bhalla tehsil in Doda district on Wednesday.
The woman aged around 70, was discovered by family members, who immediately informed the local authorities. She was reportedly found hanging from a window.
Police have initiated inquest proceedings under relevant sections, and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Police have registered a case in this regard, while the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, and investigations are ongoing. (KB)
