Eight female students of MBA department at the Islamic University of Science and Technology fainted on Wednesday while they were waiting for their post-lunch classes around 2 pm inside the varsity, reports said.
The students said that unknown persons allegedly attacked them with some spray.
The students were rushed to PHC Awantipora where from they were referred to SKIMS Srinagar for specialized treatment.
The students of the varsity have also claimed that on Tuesday unknown persons locked their classroom from outside and later after repeated shouting the lock was broken by the university security.
Officials of the varsity said that a committee has been formed to investigate the matters. “The committee will check both the incidents and submit the report within 24 hours,” they said.
Station House Officer Awantipora, Nazir Ahmed said that police have taken a cognizance of the matter and started investigations.
