An eight year old girl Tuesday brought laurels to South Kashmir when she bagged a top state award.
Areeba Sereen, hailing from Bijbehara town, won gold medal in a state level Science Olympiad. She will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5 thousand and a merit certificate by the State Olympiad Foundation.

A 3rd standard student of ‘The Educator, Smart Kids Innovative Play School’, Areeba, with roll number JK253803301, has emerged topper scoring 32 marks out of 40.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducted the test in February this year results of which were declared this afternoon.
Daughter of Advocate Muhammad Iqbal Bader, Areeba bagged the first prize in SOF – 18th National Science Olympiad, second level.
When contacted, ‘The Educator, Smart Kids Innovative Play School’ administrative officers lauded the efforts of their student. “This was not the first time the girl has made the school proud,” Principal of the Educator, Sadia Malik, said. “Last year in the First Level Exam of the SOF, she bagged 16th position.”
Areeba is being felicitated by the school soon.
Proud of her daughter’s success, parents of Areeba are all excited. However, they credited Areeba’s success to her teachers.
