9 Fire Incidents Reported Across Kashmir Valley in 24 Hours

   

SRINAGAR: Fire and Emergency Services personnel responded to a series of fire incidents across multiple districts of the Kashmir Valley over the last 24 hours, successfully containing all blazes and preventing major loss of life, officials said on Wednesday.

According to Fire and Emergency Services Kashmir Division, prompt intervention by fire service teams ensured that damage was limited despite the incidents occurring in residential, commercial and forest areas.

In Budgam district, around 20 Kail trees in Forest Compartment No N6 at Sarasyar, Chadoora were damaged in a forest fire. In Bandipora’s Check Mohalla area of Mukdamyari, Hajin, a single-story residential house, along with a GCI tin shed, caught fire.

In Srinagar, one room of a four-storey hotel building, identified as Hotel Lavinder near Modern Hospital in Rajbagh, was affected. Another incident in the city’s Batamaloo area saw a three-storey residential house damaged, with fire affecting the second floor and attic portion at Gulab Colony, SD Colony, Sector D.

Multiple tree fire incidents were also reported. A Chinar tree caught fire at Magam Adlash, Singutwara in Anantnag, while another large Chinar tree was involved in a fire at Sello in Sopore.

In Garkoot, Uri sector of Sopore, a four-storey residential house was damaged after a fire broke out due to an LPG leakage. A similar cause was reported in the New Colony, Hazratbal, and Janglatmandi areas of Anantnag, where a three-storey residential house was affected following a Hamam leakage.

Another incident was reported from Khanyar near Dastgeer Sahib in Srinagar, where a butcher shop caught fire.

Fire officials said all incidents were brought under control in time and no loss of life was reported. The department advised residents to strictly adhere to fire safety guidelines, ensure proper installation of electrical wiring and LPG systems, and report any emergency immediately to the Fire Control Room.
