SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said 900 doctors have been appointed through the Public Service Commission, while the recruitment process for another 400 doctors is currently underway.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo said the government had also referred around 700 to 800 paramedical posts for recruitment to strengthen the healthcare workforce across the Union Territory.
She said efforts were also underway to expand specialised healthcare facilities at various institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, including CT scan, MRI, Cath Lab and dialysis services.
According to the Minister, the recruitment of doctors and paramedical staff, along with the expansion of diagnostic and specialised treatment facilities, is aimed at improving healthcare delivery and ensuring greater availability of medical services for patients across JK.
