SRINAGAR: A young man and a promising Kashmiri model Junaid Shah has passed away at his Srinagar residence on Friday due to a cardiac arrest. He lived in Ellahi Bagh area in Srinagar.
Shah had a massive heart attack at around 10:30 pm and the family drove him to the SKIMS where he passed away despite the best efforts of the doctors.
It was senior journalist, Yusuf Jameel who broke the news to the world. wrote: “Our old neighbour Nissar Ahmed Shah’s son Junaid passed away due to massive cardiac arrest overnight,” Jameel wrote. “People say he was a lookalike of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. I say he was a big hope, strength & salvation of his ailing father and his mother & that of whole Kashmir. Magfirah!.”

Shah had gained popularity way back in 2014-15 when his pictures went viral with people comparing him to Ranbir. Pictures of Junaid Shah used to be often shared on Twitter and Instagram leaving people confused if at all he was the real Ranbir Kapoor. The two were looking the same si much that Kapoor’s father, Rishi Kapoor who recently died said even he is unable to make a distinction.
Shah studied at Delhi Public School and pursued further education at IIPM. Junaid wanted to do modelling after his studies. His social media handles show him posing for cameras in which he completely resembles the actor, in fact, he can be mistaken for Ranbir Kapoor.

Junaid used to often dress up like Ranbir Kapoor’s characters from his movie.
Reports said that Shah was also featured on many TV channels.
Family sources said Shah was actually enrolled in Mumbai in Anupam Kher’s acting institute. While studying, he would do small modelling projects as well. He had taken his parents with him to Mumbai during winters.
“His father was not well, he is on dialysis for a long time.” the family sources said. “He was an employee with the police’s forensic laboratory.”
The pandemic lockdown restricted the family in Mumbai and they had managed to reach home only a month back. “Everything was normal,” a neighbour said. “The family says Shah jr was having some anxiety and he was taking medicines for that but he was perfectly normal.”
