Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case of a girl in shortest possible time and arrested the accused involved in the crime

A police spokesman in a statement said: “Police Station Achabal received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating that his 17 years old daughter (name withheld) was abducted by the accused (name withheld).”

In this regard, a case FIR number 61/2018 under section 363-RPC was registered and investigation was started, he said.

During the course of investigation, Islamabad police flashed a message to all police units and also used technical efforts to trace them.

“A special team headed by SHO Police Station Achabal Shri Javid Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Achabal Shri Tanveer Ahmad raided various suspected locations in and outside the district. After strenuous efforts, Anantnag police recovered the girl within 72 hours and arrested the accused person from Jammu,” he said.

“After completion of legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs,” the spokesman said.
