Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case of a girl in shortest possible time and arrested the accused involved in the crime.

A police spokesman said in a statement that a minor girl (name withheld) had been kidnapped by one accused Tariq Ahmad Wagay son of Mohammad Abdullah Wagay resident of Armulla Lassipora on April 1, 2018 and accordingly a case FIR No. 94/2018 under section 363 RPC was registered in Police Station Pulwama.

A special team headed by SDPO Litter, SHO PS Pulwama, DO Police Post Lassipora was constituted on the directions of SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam and a manhunt was launched to nab the culprit, the spokesman said.

“Search was carried out by the team throughout the valley and they left no stone unturned to recover the kidnapped girl,” the spokesman said.

Finally, Police Pulwama succeeded to recover the minor girl and arrested the accused abductor today on April 09, 2018. The girl was handed over to her parents and the accused is now behind the bars, the police spokesman said.
