Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case of a lady in shortest possible time and arrested the accused involved in the crime.

The spokesman in a statement said “A missing report of a woman (name withheld) of Sarmarg Handwara was lodged in Police Post Zachaldara. The said woman was missing since May 21, 2018.

During the investigation, it revealed that the said lady had been kidnapped by Shabir Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Khan resident of Cherpawave Vilgam, the spokesman said.

“Consequently, a police party of Police Post Zachaldara headed by DO Zachaldara was constituted and raids were conducted at different locations and finally the kidnapped lady was traced out from Kupwara near Kupwara hospital,” the spokesman said.

After completing all legal formalities, the said lady was handed over to her family and the accused person was arrested. In this regard, a case FIR No 206/2018 under section 366 RPC has been registered and further investigation was taken up, the spokesman said.
