Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case of a girl in shortest possible time and arrested the accused involved in the crime.
The spokesman in a statement said, “Police Station Kralkhud received a complaint that a minor girl (name withheld) has gone missing since May 27, 2018.
“Consequent upon this reported case FIR No 15 /2018 u/s 363 RPC was registered at Police Station Kralkhud and investigation was started,” the spokesman said.
During the course of an investigation, it came to fore that the said girl has been kidnapped by Imtiyaz Ahmad Sofi and has confined her at some undisclosed location.
Investigating Officer collated the details of accused regarding the place where the victim had been confined and the girl was eventually located and recovered from the possession of accused after raiding the house of the accused at Pattan on the intervening night of 28 and 29 of May.
“It is pertinent to mention here that with the prompt action of police the girl was recovered within 24 hours relieving the family of the girl from mental trauma. The accused person has been arrested and investigation of the case is going on,” said police.
