SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest from the last 19 years in a case which was registered at Police station Awantipora in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Warrant under section 512 CrPC issued by Hon’ble Court of Principal Session Judge Pulwama pending with Police Station Awantipora against an accused person namely Mohammad Yousuf Sofi son of Gh Rasool Sofi resident of Panzgam was executed, who was evading his arrest from last 19 years, involved in case FIR NO. 54/2004 of Police Station Awantipora was arrested by a special Police team under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti (SP) and consisting of SHO Awantipora Inspector Zahoor Ahmed among others,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
Subsequently, the police said that the arrested accused person was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Law.
