SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids at six locations across the Union Territory on Thursday as part of an investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment process for Fireman and Fireman Driver posts in the Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Department.
According to an official statement issued to the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the ACB carried out searches at the residences, office premises, and government quarters of the accused individuals after obtaining search warrants from the court.
The case, registered under FIR number 01/2025 at the ACB Central Police Station, pertains to suspected manipulation and corruption in the selection process within the department. During the raids, various electronic devices and incriminating documents were seized for further examination.
“Several electronic gadgets and other incriminating materials have been recovered, and the investigation is ongoing,” the ACB spokesperson stated.
The raids highlight the ACB’s efforts to tackle corruption and ensure accountability in recruitment processes in government departments across Jammu and Kashmir.
