ACC Extends Deputation of IAS Officers Athar Aamir, Basharat Qayoom to AGMUT

   

SRINAGAR: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of the inter-cadre deputation tenure of two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to the AGMUT cadre (Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir), according to official orders issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

In separate orders, the ACC granted a one-year extension to Basharat Qayoom, IAS (JH:2016), from the Jharkhand cadre to the AGMUT cadre beyond February 23, 2026, in relaxation of the existing policy. The approval was conveyed through an order dated February 10, 2026, following a reference from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) dated January 28, 2026.

Similarly, in an order dated February 6, 2026, the ACC approved a one-year extension of inter-cadre deputation for Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan, IAS (RJ:2016), from the Rajasthan cadre to the AGMUT cadre beyond February 15, 2026, also in relaxation of the prevailing policy.

Both extensions were issued by the Department of Personnel and Training after approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
