Even after the complaint of molestation against Shabir Khan, Minister of State for health a day before, police have not taken any action so far however, a top Police official told Kashmir Life that the accused will not be spared despite his position.

“We received complaint only yesterday, we need some time because we too are human beings and have not any Allhadin’s lamp, but we assure that action will be taken against the accused according to law,” The police official said adding “we are working on the case which has its sensitivities.”

A case of sexual assault against the MoS Health Shabir Khan was registered on Friday after receiving a formal complaint. Police registered a case FIR no 9/2014 under sections 354 and 509 RPC in police station Shahid Gunj, Srinagar.

Meanwhile sources said that the Congress High Command has directed the minister to put in his papers.

Many politicians and civil society members have demanded stern action the minister. People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti is among the politicians who are demanding immediate sacking of Khan.
