Adbi Markaz annual conference concludes

BANDIPORA: The 38th State Level 2 day annual literary conference of Adbee Markaz Kamraz Jammu and Kashmir (AMKJK) concluded today at Wullar Valley College of Education Papachan, Bandipora, an official spokesman said.

Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo presided over the second session titled ‘Issues Relating to Kashmiri Language’, while as former Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University of Science & Technology, Sidiq Wahid, Director Academic JKBOSE, Dr Farooq Peer, Prof Rajab and Bashar Bashir shared the presidium.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Itoo said the government decision relating to introduction of Kashmiri language will be implemented with full spirit. He stressed the need of holding a joint meeting of Kashmir University, JKBOSE, Cultural Academy and Directorate of School Education for further development of Kashmiri language. He said all languages including Kashmiri should get equitable treatment from the government.

Concluding session of the conference was presided over by the former VC Islamic University, Sidiq Wahid. In his address, he stressed upon the teaching community to make their best efforts in teaching Kashmiri language in the schools. He said no institution but only teacher can help Kashmiri language to transform it to new generation.

President, AMK Dr Shujaat Bukhari thanked all the guests for their participation in the 38th annual conference.

On the occasion, special awards were given to the best performers. The ‘Sherfi Kamraz’ award was given to literary forum Bandipora which was received by its President Mubashir Nazki. The Sherfi award was also given to Dr G M Ajar renowned literary figure of Kamraz. The conference was held in coordination with literary forum Bandipora.

Meanwhile a spokesman of AMK added: The yearly conference was dedicated to MD Hajini. On the first day (Saturday), an evening poetry Mushaira was also held in which poets from different places recited their poems and couplets.

During the Mushaira, poets enthralled the audience by reciting their poems and couplets. They through their couplets reflected the socio-political scenario of the state and also the braid chopping incidents.

AMK said that they have institutionalised best book award for the year 2016 which was announced at its annual conference here at Bandipora here and will be given every year.

This year it was given to Abdul Khaliq Shams for his book Gulshani Ambia. The book was adjusted the best book. The award carries Rs 10,000, a shawl and a certificate.

According to AMK, this year’s prestigious “Sharf-e-Kamraz” was given to noted writer and poet Dr. G M Aajir while Literary Forum Bandipora also received the same award.

The awards were given by Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Mushtaq Sidiqi who was the chief guest on the occasion.

A Kashmiri book titled “Tawi Ande Pake” authored by Pyare Hatash was also released.

The editorial board of AMK’s quarterly journal bilingual “Prava” including its editor Abdul Ahad Hajini, assistant editor Jameel Ansari and  Adil Ismael were also honored with mementos.
