Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P.Vaid has said that adequate infrastructure besides other components has an important role in enhancing the professional capabilities of the force adding that the organisation has been focusing on visible improvements in this field under its modernisation programme.
Dr. Vaid said this while commissioning the 3-storey District Police Office building at Kathua which has been executed by Police Housing Corporation a cost of Rs.177.00 lakh within a record period of 18 months.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Vaid said that during the recent years JKP has turned a large force with multifarious duties and the organisation has been focusing on capacity building of the force in different fields. Under the progamme, residential and office accommodations have been constructed in every district of the State with the aim to enhance living and working conditions of the personnel, especially in the far-off areas.
Dr Vaid according to spokesman said that our cops are deployed in every corner of the state, who have to face hostile weather conditions and situations while performing their duties and a mega construction programme was undertaken for the capacity building of the personnel across the State. Besides other components like weaponry, mobility and networking, we are enhancing the basic facilities for the Jawans and officers so that they could deliver in a better way, he added.
Managing Director AK Choudhary and Executive Engineer Police Housing Corporation, who were with the DGP briefed about the different features of building. It was informed that the building would have a meeting hall and a computer lab, besides housing all branches of the district office.
DGP asked the officers and engineers, present on the occasion to prepare the project plans, keeping in mind the latest requirements for a long period and monitor the execution works personally.
Among others, IGP Jammu Danesh Rana, DIG JKS Range AA Wani, DC Kathua Ramesh Kumar, SSP Kathua Mr. Pawan Parihar, SSP Samba Joginder Singh, AIG Building PHQ, Javed Ahmad Koul, Principal STC Kathua Sanjiv Kumar were present on the occasion.
