The CPI (m) MLA in state legislature, MY Traigami, supported by legislator H M Yaseen, Tuesday said that an adjournment motion submitted by the duo on continuous hunger strike of casual labourers/daily wagers and National Youth Corps(NYCs) was disallowed by the speaker.

“An Adjournment Motion under Rule 56 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in J&K Legislative Assembly was submitted by Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami and Hakeem Mohd Yaseen, MLAs to Hon’ble Speaker for 06-10-2015. The purpose of the Motion was to discuss the grave situation that has arisen out of the ‘continuous hunger strike of casual labourers/daily wagers and National Youth Corps (NYCs)’,” a statement by CPI (m) said Tuesday afternoon.

“Unfortunately, the Motion was disallowed with utter disregard to the Rules and Procedures of the House, forcing them to stage walk out in protest along with other Hon’ble Members of the opposition,” the statement said.
