SRINAGAR: The administration has dismissed as false the rumours circulating on social media about a cloudburst in Akhnoor’s Chowki Chaura area. Officials confirmed that no such incident has occurred and urged people not to pay heed to unverified reports.
Authorities clarified that while there have been reports of landslides in some parts of Akhnoor due to continuous rainfall, no cloudburst has taken place in the region.
The district administration has appealed to the public to rely only on official statements and avoid spreading misinformation that could cause panic.
Meanwhile, field teams have been deployed to assess the situation in landslide-prone areas to ensure safety measures are taken promptly. [KNT]
