SRINAGAR: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the admission process for its various academic programmes for the January 2025 admission cycle. Applicants can access the admission portal on the university’s official website.
Candidates aspiring for admission may complete the admission process on the portal before January 31, 2025.
The university offers admission to various UG, PG, Certificate, Diploma, and PG Diploma programmes in distance learning and online education modes. Before filling the admission form online, a candidate needs to create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and have a Mobile Number, Email ID, properly scanned academic documents, photograph, and banking details for the payment of the fee.
Learners must exercise caution and be vigilant while submitting their admission forms. They should note their User ID and Password for future use. Also, the DEB ID is mandatory for the submission of the application, which must be created before starting the application process.
IGNOU launched around 60 new programmes in 2023-24, including Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, and Facilities and Service Management.
Dr A.H. Rizvi, Regional Director, IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar, informed that candidates who wish to be part of IGNOU must avail themselves of this opportunity and apply for any of the programmes of their choice before the last date.
Shri Rizvi cautioned prospective learners not to fall into the trap of fraudulent individuals or callers who may approach them for payment of admission fees through QR Codes, WhatsApp, or any other social media platforms, as the university does not ask for any such details on platforms other than the university’s official website.
