SRINAGAR: Advance registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra will begin from April 15 at over 550 designated bank branches across the country, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) announced.

Officials said the registration will follow a first-come, first-served system, subject to fixed daily quotas for each route.
Pilgrims aged between 13 and 70 years are eligible to register, while women with more than six weeks of pregnancy will not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage.
The registration process will be conducted through Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, with permits also being issued online, the board said.
