Advisor to governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai Saturday held a public outreach program at Grievance Cell, Church Lane, Sonawar, an official spokesperson said.

“As many as 16 delegations visited the Governor’s Grievance Cell and appraised him with various issues and problems faced by them in their respective areas. A number of individuals also called on the Advisor to seek redressal of their problems,” reads a statement.

It further reads that among delegations included villagers of Gujjar Basti, Nandimarg of district Kulgam, Akhal Kangan and Shalteng area. The issues raised by the delegations included road connectivity, irrigation facilities for their agricultural lands and early completion of ongoing projects. Another delegation demanded the establishment of Degree College in the Shalimar area of Srinagar. The Sports Federation Mattan demanded the development of sports infrastructure in their area. The delegation consisting of cricket bat manufacturers raised the issues confronting the industry.

Another delegation from Beerwah demanded the development of their area as Hill district and providing different amenities like drinking water, road, educational and health facilities in their area. And the deputations from Srigufwara Anantnag raised the issue of compensation in terms of SRO-43, while as the 12th class students from Higher Secondary School Bijbehara sought reconsideration of their cancelled papers for assessment. Contractual lecturers demanded exemption from yearly screening tests for their selection on academic arrangement. The Employee delegation of seasonal teachers also met the Advisor for the continuation of their services and enhancement of their monthly remuneration, reads the statement.
