Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, on Monday directed for maintaining adequate stock of food grains, fuel supplies and other essential commodities in Kashmir valley and snow-bound areas of Jammu division.
He passed these directions while chairing an emergency meeting on the stock position of essentials in Kashmir valley due to closure of highway from past few days.
The meeting was attended by Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, PK Pole and representatives of oil companies.
The Advisor directed Secretary FCS&CA to allow the supply carrying trucks to Kashmir valley stranded on National Highway on priority so that the stock in Valley would be replenished at the earliest.
He also directed the Secretary to communicate with all the concerned departments for smooth and hassle-free movement of supply trucks.
