Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today inaugurated ‘Swasthya Bhawan’, the newly constructed office complex of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir at Bemina. The project is being executed by the J&K Housing Board.

Financial Commissioner, Health Atal Dulloo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, MD J&K Housing Board Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Kunzes Dolma, Project Director J&K State AIDS Control Society (JKSACS) Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Medical Superintendent JLNM Hospital Dr. Zakir Hussain, senior officers and staff were present on the occasion.

The Project for the construction of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir office was started in 2016 with the approved project cost of Rs 13.80 Crore.

After inaugurating the new office complex, the Advisor was briefed by the MD J&K Housing Board about the project and the infrastructure they have developed for smooth functioning of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.

The Advisor took round of the three storey building and visited various sections of the office. He also interacted with the staff working in the office and enquired about the functioning of their respective sections.

He also visited the office chamber of Director Health Services where he held interaction with the site engineers and officials of health department. The engineers who were given the task to complete the project briefed the Advisor about various aspect related to engineering and architecture of the building.

The Advisor also enquired from the officers of Health department regarding working of their respective offices and also asked to share suggestions to improve the overall functioning of the department.

Maintenance of Ambulances, operationalization of Jan Aushadi Centres and status of ongoing BLS Training to police personals at Dhobiwan was also discussed briefly during the interaction session.

Further, the discussion was also held on the status of DPC cases of both gazetted and non gazetted employees of the department. The Director was asked to expedite the process of clearing of DPC cases and to resolve the issues delaying the process.

He asked the officers and staff to ensure regular maintenance of the newly constructed building with focussed attention on cleanliness and proper upkeep of electric and other gadgets. The concerned officer informed the Advisor that a proposal has been submitted to the Administrative Department for sanctioning of funds for beautification, fencing and landscaping works.
