Srinagar:

A day after Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sought revocation of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from parts of Jammu and Kashmir, senior BJP leader, Avinash Rai Khanna, Thursday said the AFSPA can’t be withdrawn until peace is restored in the state.

Reports quoted Avinash: “The BJP stand is very clear that AFSPA can’t be withdrawn until there is peace restored and situation is normal in the state. The center is monitoring the situation very closely and will take decision at the right time.”
