Authorities Tuesday lifted curbs from the residence of Hurriyat Conference (m) spokesperson Adv Shahid-ul-Islam after 150 days of house detention.

Speaking to Kashmir Life over phone, Shahid said the deployment from his Sanat Nagar residence was lifted today afternoon.

Pertinently Shahid was kept under house detention after the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani. Wani’s killing triggered a mass uprising resulting in the death of at least 97 people and injuries to thousands others.

Meanwhile, senior JKLF leader Bashir Ahmad Bhat was also released from detention. He was arrested in September and was lodged in Central Jail Srinagar. However, he was later shifted to Rajbagh police station.
