Life returned to normal in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Monday after four days of consecutive shutdown against the killing of scholar rebel Manan Wani in a  gunfight with government forces in Handwara village.

After 4 days, life returns to normal in Kupwara

Shops and other business establishments reopened today and traffic was also plying on all routes normally.

However, colleges and schools remained closed as a precautionary measure to prevent any protest by students.

A large number of people were seen busy in purchasing different items in the market. Police and Paramilitary forces were deployed in some sensitive areas in the township as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, mobile Internet continued to remain suspended in the entire Kupwara district.

On Thursday scholar rebel Manan Wani was killed along with his associate in Shatgund village of Handwara town in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
