Mughal road, connecting Kashmir with Pir Panjal range, was Monday opened for traffic after five days of closure.
The 84km long stretch bringing Poonch and Rajouri district closer to Srinagar was closed due to heavy rains and snowfall.
It lies between Bafliaz, in Poonch district, to Shopian in Kashmir.
Of late, the new dispensation has mooted a proposal to make the Mughal era stretch as an alternate highway of Kashmir.
