After several rounds of funeral prayers, Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind militant Shakir Ahmad Dar laid to rest at his native village in Tral town of south Kashmir’s district Pulwama on Tuesday.

Reports said that people from different areas of the Tral including men, women, and children assembled at slain’s ancestral village Rathsuna and offered the funeral prayers. He was later buried at his ancestral graveyard in the village.

Witness said that people from different areas of the district are visiting the slain’s residence to offer condolences.

Emotional scenes were witnessed from the funeral site where scores of men and women were praising Shakir while his body was being carried towards the grave.

Pertinently, Dar, who was affiliated with Zakir Musa-led Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind outfit was killed in a gunfight with the forces in Reshipora area of Tral.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed across south Kashmir to mourn the militant killings.
