SRINAGAR: Following Omar Abdullah’s oath-taking ceremony, PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for electing a stable government. She expressed hope that the new administration would address the grievances of the people of JK caused by the revocation of Article 370 in 2019.
“People in Jammu and Kashmir have been deeply hurt by the August 2019 decision, which they still do not accept,” Mufti said. She urged the government to address pressing issues such as drug addiction, unemployment, and the electricity crisis.
When asked about the reduced powers of the Chief Minister in the Union Territory, Mehbooba Mufti said that the people have given a mandate to the National Conference with the hope that their suffering will be alleviated. She added that the wrongs of 2019 should be condemned on the floor of the house to send a strong message to the world.
