JK Assembly that witnessed uproar over “paltry” relief to flood-hit Wednesday got caught in commotion after the opposition alleged inequitable distribution of funds for repair and maintenance of power infrastructure in twin capitals of Jammu and Kashmir.

Of total Rs 3.5 crore funds released for repair and maintenance of power infrastructure including damaged transformers during last financial year, the agitating legislators alleged that Rs 2.5 crore were released for Jammu province and only Rs one crore for Kashmir where damage was much more in view of the floods.

Many National Conference and independent MLAs were marshalled out after pandemonium prevailed in JK House. To protest marshalling out, many NC and Congress MLAs stood on their seats, which forced Speaker Kavinder Gupta to adjourn the House for ten minutes.

Earlier, NC MLAs were marshalled out on Friday over the issue of transfer of NHPC hydel projects to the state.
