Hurriyat (g) Chairperson Syed Ali Geelani continued to remain under house arrest Friday and he was again forcibly stopped from offering the Friday congregational prayers by the police and he was not allowed to come out of his house.
While terming the continuous detention of Syed Ali Geelani as illegal and unconstitutional, Hurriyat (g) spokesperson condemned it in strong words.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (g) said that extra police force were deployed around the residence of Syed Ali Geelani this morning and the senior police officers themselves visited Hyderpora and took stock of the situations and issued guidelines to the police personnel deployed there.
A heavy police vehicle bearing registration number JK01J-7092 is always standing blocking the main entrance gate of Syed Ali Geelani and on Friday an additional police Jeep was placed on the airport road at the entrance of the lane leading to the residence of the Hurriyat (g) head.
Syed Ali Geelani was Friday 18th time stopped from performing the important religious obligation since his return from New Delhi to Valley on 15 April. During this entire period, the police have failed to produce any written order or document mentioning the clause or section of the act under which the pro-freedom leader is not allowed to move out and for what crime is he being punished.
Hurriyat Conference (g) appealed the human rights organization to take serious notice of the continuous house arrest of Kashmiri pro-freedom leader from last four and a half years and use their influence in his release.
