Ahead of Dusshera and Eid festivals, district administration in Kishtwar chaired an all party meeting at New DC office complex and urged the people to help the administration to maintain peace and communal harmony during festival season.

 The meeting was held under the chairmanship of DC Kishtwar, Baseer Ahmed Khan and was attended by DIG Ashkor Ahmed Wani and SP Kishtwar Sanjay Kotwal. About 100 political and social activists also participated in the meeting and lasted for more than 3 hours.

Earlier the administration also convened a meeting of religious heads and Immams of various mosques. The administration appealed them to convey the massage of peace and communal harmony during religious sermons.

The modalities of Eid festival were also discussed in the meeting and were assured full security cover during Eid Nimaz. Police and civil administration also urged the people to remain adhere to the religious slogans and avoid all those slogans that can vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.

Meanwhile Immam Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Farooq Ahmed Kichloo in his Friday sermon also appealed the people and particularly the youths not to indulge in any mischievous sloganeering during Eid procession.

Pertinently, communal riots hit the area on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitre, tow and half months earlier.
