SRINAGAR: On the eve of Independence Day, security forces uncovered and neutralized an Improvised explosive device (IED) in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to authorities, a joint patrolling team composed of army and police personnel discovered the IED contained within a bag near a college in the Kanispora area during the afternoon hours.
In response to this discovery, a specialised bomb disposal squad was swiftly dispatched to the location. The IED was successfully neutralised by the disposal team, with no resulting damage reported.
In a separate incident, a suspicious bag was detected alongside a roadside in the Heeri area of the Kupwara district, situated in northern Kashmir.
Officials confirmed that the bag contained an explosive shell. This dangerous object was subsequently safely disarmed by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS).
