The winter capital of state, Jammu continues to shut demanding All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
Under the banner of lesser known All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Coordination Committee, Jammu continued their protest demanding a separate AIIMS for the Jammu region.
“The Committee workers even clashed with police deployed in the area. The AIIMS Coordination Committee is spearheading an agitation to press for their demand. It has called for 72-hour bandh in Jammu since Friday rejecting the Centre’s announcement for “AIIMS-like facilities” in the region. The call for bandh affected business and public transport in Jammu,” reports said.
Union government had announced AIIMS for Kashmir valley against which Jammu started asking for a similar medical institution.
