The administration in Kangan on Tuesday disrupted AIP’s public gathering in Kangan area of district Ganderbal in central Kashmir, the party spokesman claimed.

The party spokesman in a statement also alleged the local Sub-divisional Magistrate of manhandling AIP president Er Rasheed and his colleagues during the public rally. He said that while the party had applied for the said program well in time, civil administration delayed the permission till 2 PM.

“After delaying the permission authorities asked party’s local office bearers to hold the public gathering at the outskirts of the Town. Party had no option but to agree with the administration, however, when the program began, the concerned SDM entered into the venue and started using objectionable and derogatory language, which was all politically motivated,” the party spokesman said.

“It is highly condemnable that police and civil authorities asked Er Rasheed to finish his speech within minutes,” the spokesman added.

The spokesman added that the said SDM forced police authorities to drag Er Rasheed and his other colleagues by using force. However, according to the spokesman the matter has been brought to the notice of Election Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal and party has also sought stern action against the said officer.
